Whitney, on foreign language recognition

So Whitney is looking at pictures of the sinkhole in Guatemala with some coworkers and comes across the picture with the stop-sign.  She then proceeds to explain to them,

“Alto” means “Stop” in Guatemalan.

Anybody else realize that Guatemala had its own language?  I always thought they spoke Spanish there…

UPDATE:

So just now Whitney was talking to another coworker who was asking about whether our niece, Avalynn, knew how to speak any foreign languages.  Whitney replies,

Yeah, she can count.  She can count in both Spanish and in American.

Yep… we speak English here, Whit.  *sigh*  I can’t make this stuff up, people.
